One Way was incorporated in 1993 by Philip and Carolann Mahoney in Lyons, Colorado. Business began with one small side load truck servicing 180 customers. The business plan was to service the mountains West of the City of Boulder. One Way has grown to over 4,000 customers. We now provide service in Boulder County, Larimer County, Gilpin County, and Weld County.

Rather than offer the mass production curb service of the large trash companies, One Way's focuses on the individual needs of our cusotmers. Our drivers understand the importance of quality service. One Way has built it's reputation over the years by providing the very best service in the industry.

Dr. Mahoney received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Colorado. He was appointed as assistant professor of finance  and economics at C.U. School of Business. A former graduate student of his was elected Mayor of Aspen, Colorado and appointed Dr. Mahoney as the City manager in 1972. Dr. Mahoney managed Aspen from 1972-1979, a period of increasing status. From 1983 to 1985 Dr. Mahoney managed the City of Steamboat, Colorado. Afterwards, Dr. Mahoney returned to teaching at the University of Texas Pan America and the University of Northern Colorado.

Carolann Mahoney attended the University of Texas Pan American taking a business course and graduated with a B.S. in computer science. She was hired by I.B.M. and moved to Boulder Colorado where Philip Mahoney and Carolann were married. Carolann's department at I.B.M. moved to San Jose, California. Thus, in 1993 Carolann and Philip decided to start their own business in trash. When Carolann was not helping the trash business she attended nursing school. Since recieving her R.N she has been at the Boulder County Jail. As a nurse.
